Sonia has been "wowing" audiences since she was 4 years old. She always liked to sing and it was never unusual for her to win all types of contests.She left her native Slovakia in 1990 for a new life in Canada. Today, Sonia calls Toronto, Ontario home. In 1995 she was contacted by her old friend, Gabo Dusik, a Slovak musician renowned in her home country. Sonia and Gabo go way back. Mr. Dusik has always wanted her to work with him. He told her that she had the perfect voice for his work and only her lovely voice could do justice to the music he had in his heart. In fact, just before she left Slovakia, they were already working on a CD, which was to be released for Christmas 1990. However it never came to be, as she decided to join her family in Canada.
But, luckily for all of us, after years of coaxing, she finally gave in and decided to record a CD with him. She came to the realization that the only way she could truly express herself was through song, so a date was made to return to Slovakia and record with him. She stayed there for 9 months writing the songs. Mr. Dusik, wrote the music you hear on the album specifically for Sonia. Sonia was instrumental in helping with the music and, being multilingual, (She is fluent in at least 4 languages that we know of) wrote the English lyrics on her own.
