How Can I find a Job in Canada?

T&CS Canada is not a job search site. For the best results, search the web or visit the newsroups. For the newsgroups, you will find a plethora of listings in ca.jobs as well as can.jobs, to name just two newsgroups. I am sure there are many others as well.

Your best bet are the first two links.

A professional resume is the most important thing. A good cover letter is another one. Looking for a job is a full-time job. As anywhere else in the world, you need to know people who can help you. The more you go out, meet new people, talk to people, the better you chances are to find the right job. Don’t be shy. Learn how to sell your skills and yourself.

Be prepared for disappointment, rejection, and often complete indifference. Canadian companies are not known for being risk takers and the issue of Canadian experience will come up more often than not. Be prepared and explain how the fact that you do NOT have Canadian experience will help the employer.

As always, there is an ocean of valuable information about job search on the Net. Use the time while you are waiting for finalization of your application to learn about Canada , industry, companies you are interested in. It will pay off once you are in Canada .
